A trek to Blubberhouses is always a beautiful drive but to get there and find the gate locked made us slightly worried we might be rushing straight back! Within minutes the opposition skipper arrived and we were ready for action. Winning the toss we batted first and in went the foriegn legion to put up 200 or more, was going well till Lenny didn't quite get hold of one and was caught out near the fence, Olie stuck around and clattered his way to 106* with a few swift cameos from Matt, Andy Rob and Harold. Rob Stokes also got in on the action with a carefully crafted 25 but OLie stole the batting show. with 147 on the board i was confident so decided to open the bowling with Lenny and myself, both of picking up early wickets but at the expense of a fair few boundrys, A long 22 yards i must say !! On came the Uff bros to tighten things up and Matty stormed on to the bowling scene with a wicket first ball, Olie kept his quota up at the other end as wickets few as often as The 36 bus that goes to leeds Get off in Harrogate if that is your need. Stop in Riply and have an ice cream The driver is your friend The bus is nice and clean !!! Henry's cat stepped up for an over and scalped one and Dan Herron and Daz sidwell finished of the job They closed on just over a ton and a good victory was had by the Newby Hall Massive !! No fielding award for Trev this week as he dropped a dolly straight at his chest, Maybe if it was three inches of the ground down to your right you would of snaffled it up eh Trev ??
