Its like Christmas Eve......

Don't you mean it's like the night before Eid or Diwali, Graham ?

Without wishing to sound like I know a lot about this, but its eid - and looking at the size of the guy, he definately needs that fast during daylight hours so everyone can share his tea out between them....

I'm loving the political correctness of this club. Unfortunately I am not quite as up to speed on the religious festivals of our asian cousins as I obviously should be.
I'm glad he's back anyway. The IPL seem to be doing just fine without him.

Two games, two wins and promising performances from a number of players.
We welcomed back Olie into the side but it was 16 year old Grant Leivers who opened the bowling in the first team for the first time but it certainly wont be the last. After a couple of good appeals Brad Atkinson finaly fell to Lenny and he picked up Ian Fraiser's wicket with the very next ball as well as he went on to finish with four wickets and another outstanding catch to boot. Grant, although wicketless this week bowled with good pace and control and looks promising for the future. Having Kirkby 50 odd for 5 they dug in and reall showed how to value your wicket, 137-7 after their 45overs.
The opening partnership of Virr and Lenny raced to 50within 9 overs playing some great shots until Lenny was bowled by Tuffers. Olie batted well until he hauled out in the deep. Three wickets then fell for not a lot, Potter, Rudd and Ingle-Toombs not really troubling the scorers and it was left to the finishe, Devine and pick up another red inker although the glory goes to Virr who carried his bat fo 68*.
Man of the match was Lenny for 4wickets, 30runs and an outstanding catch. Also a mention to the umpires who were excellent, we might not always think their decisions are right but both umpires were consistant over the 90 overs and this made the game really enjoyable for everyone so well done and thanks guys!
Next week Bolton Abbey and a minibus for some beers!! Bring it on!!
