Goofy Golf !!
There seem to be a few golfers at the club and what better way to show of our golfing skills than by actually playing golf together !! A fortnight ago we travelled to Stressholme for a round with temperatures barly above freezing but the sun was beating down like a carribean ensemble and by the secon hole shirt sleaves were tthe order of the day !! The competition was stiff as ere the trees when hit hard by a missile from my 5 iron but by carding a 10 a 9 and two 8's i was out of contention (having been up there with 47 after the first9 ) Porky showed he had been chilling with Arnold Palmer for two long as his mature, sensible percentage play was toting up the pars and bogeys nd he could smell a little bit of victory. But alas it wasn't to be, having seen the leading pack in and out of the Bushes more times than finger mouse we wer sure they were struggling but it turns out they were all just helping Matty look for his ball ! To he final whole and there seemed to be some confusion ahead but we were not to be distacted and a calm, collected fnish saw Porky the leader of our pack ( vroom vroom ) but on entering tha vast expanse of bar and tables and televizzles that was the clubhouse we found the winner to be non other than STEVE 'Robbo' Robson who was chuffed to bits with his win !! Can Steve make it 2 on the bounce or will Porky Hog the Greens ! Can Shiz burrow his way under the fairways and pop up in the hole !! Cani make a better decision than if ya aim stright for it ya probably gonna miss it !!! All these questions may be answered after this sunday when the Newby Hall invitational Golf Society head of for another round of chips,sandwedges and tee's !!!!!
