Absolutly Gutted !!
Things couldn't of been much better, Had a glorious holiday in corfu, got a superb Uffindal style tan, got offered the job i was after enabling me to play every saturday ,and a home game to Tanfield was the event to pass a few hours in the afternoon, what a great saturday. All was going well enough and Tanfields wickets werfalling often enough even though Clarkos and Bobby Stokes did put up a little more resistance than i expected !! HAving stayed loose and ready for action i was called upon to start my bowling spell and did so in decent enough fasion with only a single coming off the last ball off the over which contained some good pace and bounce. On returning to mid on to field the next over i was happy with my loosening over but something wasn't right in the lower back area a my muscles began to tighten and my entire collection of lower back muscles went into a tight spasm, i thought i could bowl it but it wasn't to be. coming off the field for a ltr of deep heat i knew it wasn't good but couldn't see the team field with only ten men for the last 15 ovrs so i limped back out to stand tall and do what i could which wasn't much but did manage to hobble a few yards and take a catch which absolutly urt like standing on a plug in the dark with 10.000 watts still buzzing in it. Came off for tea with tanfield closing on a respectable 168 for 8 and a good spread indeed was enjoyed. Batting for Newby was fluctuential to say the least but half centuries from the Newby Nurdlerteve Robson and a more Dynamite 50 from Grant saw us past the mark with 2 overs to spare. Good close game which had some good cricket and some good drama towards the end . Taking a trip to the minor injuries i was told i had damaged muscles in my lower spine and this has been confimed today at a secondry appointment. I have been prescribed muscle relaxing tablets (which could be interesting) and a load of other stuff to sort me out but it could take time. Am absolutly gutted to get this injury after changing my career path to enable weekly avaliability but worse things happen at sea !?! Hope to back soon as i can walk properly. Stox
